Job Overview

We are immediately seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Instructor to teach evening classes at our Harlingen, TX campus. As an HVAC Instructor at SCI, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of future heating, ventilation, and air conditioning professionals. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction and course materials to prepare students for the workplace, focusing on the practical application of HVAC principles and practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, participating in curriculum development and revision to ensure that our programs remain relevant and effective.
  • Collaborate with campus faculty and staff to create an optimized learning environment that fosters student success and achievement.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Stay current with industry developments and advancements, incorporating new technologies and techniques into your teaching practice to ensure that our students remain competitive in the job market.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the HVAC industry, with a strong background in installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and residential air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems.
  • NCCER Certification and Texas ACR Contractor/Certified Technician License (issued by Texas Department Licensing and Regulation) are required.
  • Universal EPA 608 certification is also required, demonstrating your commitment to environmental responsibility and safety.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Superheat & Subcooling, thermodynamics, electrical, ohms law, and electromagnetism, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more NATE certifications, HVAC Excellence certification, LEED Certification, RSES Certification, and/or an HVAC technical trades school diploma with continuing educational classes, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Previous teaching or training experience, with the ability to design and deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
