Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Long-Term Substitute Teacher - Art to join our team. As a Long-Term Substitute Teacher - Art, you will play a vital role in facilitating learning, academic achievement, and personal development by providing instruction to students. You will be responsible for developing and implementing curriculum and lesson plans, utilizing technology to facilitate learning, and demonstrating an understanding of the varying learning styles and needs of a diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans that cater to the needs of a diverse student population

Essential Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Elementary Education K-3 or K-9 Endorsement registered in Lake County
  • Illinois substitute license or Illinois teaching license registered in Lake County
  • Considerable knowledge of core curriculum areas, including art and art history
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations and learning styles
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching art in a school setting, with a focus on elementary or middle school students
