We currently operate two elementary schools (K-5) and two middle schools (6-8), and we are excited to welcome a new 6th Grade Science Teacher to our team.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate 6th Grade Science Teacher to join our team at Columbus Collegiate Academy - Main St. As a Science Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of our students. You will work closely with content and grade-level teams to develop and internalize rigorous, aligned curriculum, establish and maintain a joyful classroom and grade-level culture, and communicate student progress consistently with families to establish authentic partnerships between school and home. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and internalize rigorous, aligned curriculum and lessons that meet the needs of all learners
• Establish and maintain a joyful classroom and grade-level culture that promotes academic excellence and social-emotional growth
• Communicate student progress consistently with families to establish authentic partnerships between school and home
• Use data intelligently to drive improvement efforts and implement frequent feedback to grow as an educator
• Design systems that support the needs of all learners and promote academic excellence
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leaders to achieve school-wide goals and objectives

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• A B.A./B.S. degree and the ability to secure the appropriate teaching license
• Prior experience working in urban schools and/or communities (preferred)
• A strong commitment to using data-driven instructional practices and techniques to improve student outcomes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortability with Google products for effective communication and completion of job responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Experience working with students in grades 6-8
• Knowledge of science curriculum and instruction
• Experience with project-based learning and inquiry-based instruction
• Ability to speak multiple languages (preferred)

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

• A starting salary of $49,000 for new teachers with a Bachelor's degree
