About the Role: Substitute Teacher

As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Key Responsibilities:

• Teach a variety of subjects, including but not limited to math, science, English, history, and social studies
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure seamless collaboration and support

Essential Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• Three professional references with one by a previous direct supervisor
• NJ Substitute Credential
• Background check & TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• A passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching or tutoring experience
