Key Responsibilities
- Assist the instructor with classroom set-up and class preparations to ensure a smooth and productive learning environment
- Provide individual and/or small group instruction in all facets of the curriculum (academic and social-emotional) under the direction of the classroom teacher
- Administer, score, and record achievement, diagnostic tests, and other documentation as required or recommended by the teacher
- Support students in developing organizational and study skills, promoting independence and self-confidence
- Guide and serve as a resource person to students in a general education or special education setting, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity
- Maintain effective communication with school staff, ensuring seamless collaboration and coordination
- Assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, recess, and/or plan periods, and field trips, prioritizing student safety and well-being
- Check notebooks, correct papers, and supervise testing and make-up work as assigned by the teacher, promoting academic accountability and responsibility
- Check and record student attendance when appropriate, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
- Assist students with their clothing, lunch, snack, and cleanup routines as needed, demonstrating empathy and understanding
- Alert the teacher to any problems or special information about an individual student, ensuring timely and effective support
- Participate in training programs and meetings when requested by the principal/assistant principal, committing to ongoing professional growth and development
Essential Qualifications
