Job Summary
As a Live Chat Specialist - Collections, you'll be responsible for responding to borrowers via different digital communication channels with delinquent accounts, collecting past due payments, and providing appropriate payment solutions to cure borrowers' delinquency. This role will also maintain records of contacts and attempted contacts with delinquent account customers, as well as records of any payments collected from the customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with delinquent borrowers via different digital communication channels, including live chat, email, and phone.
 - Find solutions to help bring borrowers' loans to a current status by providing personalized support and guidance.
 - Process payments for borrowers with past due payments, and ensure accurate and timely recording of payments.
 - Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly collection and metric goals, while consistently meeting or exceeding performance targets.
 - Provide exceptional customer service, responding to borrower inquiries and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
 - Utilize sales, negotiation, and persuasion tools to effectively communicate with borrowers and drive results.
 - Collaborate with internal teams, including collections and customer service, to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.
 
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- 1-2 years of direct experience in credit and collections, with a strong understanding of sales, negotiation, and persuasion tools.
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with borrowers via digital channels.
 - Prior experience with financial products preferred, but not required.
 - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
 - Self-motivated and extremely goal-oriented, with a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
 - Team player with a professional demeanor, able to work collaboratively with internal teams.
 - Bilingual Spanish/English required, with fluent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with live chat software and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
 - Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
 - Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with a strong understanding of remote work best practices.
