Job Summary:

As a Full-Time Federal Program Tutor Advisor with Workwarp, you will be responsible for providing instructional support services to senior junior and senior high school students. You will work closely with certified teachers and other support staff to ensure that students receive the academic support they need to succeed. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one tutoring to students in need of academic intervention and language acquisition
  • Assist with classroom management, including organizing instructional materials and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Compile and maintain accurate student records on attendance, testing results, student progress, and achievement
  • Provide information, materials, and instructional support to classroom instructors
  • Conduct parent involvement activities, including parent-teacher conferences and home visits
  • Coordinate parent/family school functions and events
  • Attend meetings and parent conferences to provide information and facilitate communication between students, parents, and instructors
  • Provide support in a library or media center
  • Conduct progress monitoring assessments and maintain accurate progress monitoring data
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Completed two years (48 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education, or obtained an associate's degree
  • Met a rigorous standard of quality and able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
  • Ability to maintain effective communication with students and staff
  • Ability to carry out and evaluate the achievement of students
  • Adequate level of instructional technology skills
  • Experience and training working with children with diverse backgrounds in an instructional setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply
  • Experience working with students with special needs or English language learners
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
  • Experience with progress monitoring and assessment tools
