Senior Google Cloud Computing Engineer
About the position
Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure GCP infrastructure solutions.
• Ensure the reliability and availability of GCP services in the Cloud One environment.
• Provide support for Cloud One implementations, including configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Terragrunt or similar.
• Automate deployment, configuration, and scaling of GCP resources.
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the health and performance of GCP resources.
• Respond to and resolve incidents related to the GCP infrastructure and Cloud One services.
• Provide regular reports and updates on system performance, incidents, and improvements.
• Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of GCP solutions.
• Create and maintain documentation for GCP architectures, processes, and procedures.
• Configure and troubleshoot cloud systems.
• Implement, configure, and maintain Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) by Tennable for C1 environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure ACAS deployment aligns with organizational standards and requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ACAS-related issues efficiently.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with five (5) years of experience; or a Master's degree with three (3) years of experience.
• Active Interim Secret clearance required to start; ability to obtain a Secret clearance required to maintain employment.
• US citizenship required.
• Security+ Certification or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification or higher.
• Google Cloud Certified - Associate Cloud Engineer.
• Experience with Terraform or Deployment Manager automating tools.
• Experience with Configuration Management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Proficiency with virtual machines and managing computer resources.
• Experience with deploying and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes.
• Expertise in working with BigQuery for data analysis and large-scale data processing.
• Familiarity with managed database services like Cloud SQL and Firestore.
• Experience with Google Load Balancing Solutions and/or Nginx.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with Google Cloud's monitoring, logging, and error reporting tools.
• In-depth understanding of and experience as a cloud engineer with Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, storage, Active Directory, F5, Barracuda.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience supporting USAF or other Government DoD related software development projects.
• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, OCI).
• Understanding of VPC networks, subnets, firewalls, and routing.
• Experience with Containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
• Previous experience deploying secure systems to the cloud in a highly regulated environment.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe or other modern software development methods/practices.
• Experience with creating, delegating, and prioritizing tickets within an IT ticketing system, such as ServiceNow or Jira.
