Job Summary

The Instructional Support Associate, Mathematics will be responsible for maintaining the daily operations of the Mathematics Center, providing tutoring and academic support services to students, and contributing to the overall success of the Academic Support Programs. This is a remote opportunity, allowing you to work from anywhere while still being an integral part of our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality tutoring and academic support services to students in mathematics, either in-person or online.
  • Maintain the daily operations of the Mathematics Center, including workflow management, resource development, and center maintenance.
  • Develop and implement effective tutoring strategies and techniques to support students' learning needs.
  • Collaborate with faculty members and other support staff to identify and support students who require additional academic support.
  • Travel to various campuses and other locations for College business, as required.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in tutoring and academic support.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in mathematics or a related field, along with tutorial/teaching experience in the appropriate subject area in an educational setting.
  • Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with two (2) years of related professional work experience.
  • AA with an earned College Reading Learning Association or Association of Coaching and Tutoring Profession associate tutor certification.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in an academic support center or tutoring environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics and ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
