About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursing Education and Simulation Specialist to join our team at our Tinley Park, IL campus. This role is pivotal in supporting students with the mastery of material, including didactic and clinical learning concepts, as well as patient care simulations. As a Nurse Student Learning Specialist, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic journey of our students, guiding them towards success in their nursing education and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with academic partners, faculty, and staff to provide strategies and academic reinforcement to students throughout their academic program and as they prepare for the NCLEX-RN exam.
- Assess learning styles, identify strengths, and discover opportunities for academic development in students, creating and implementing personalized remediation plans.
- Support all clinical learning lab and simulated patient care learning experiences for students, ensuring they are well-prepared for clinical practice.
- Demonstrate current, detailed, and accurate knowledge of concepts tested by the NCLEX-RN, as well as currency in nursing practice, to provide academic support.
- Prepare and maintain labs and simulated patient care environments, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary equipment, supplies, and materials to replicate a simulated healthcare setting.
- Collaborate with course coordinators and faculty to develop and implement detailed clinically-based scenarios for simulated learning experiences.
- Operate and maintain computerized and non-computerized simulation equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
- Coordinate and supervise lab experiences to ensure students have the opportunity to meet course objectives.
- Provide individual oversight to students during practice and/or remediation of technical nursing skills as requested by course faculty.
- Participate in planning and scheduling learning spaces for students and faculty, ensuring open lab and structured lab utilization times are available and appropriately resourced.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- An unencumbered RN license.
- BLS CPR certification; BLS CPR instructor certification is preferred.
Preferred qualifications include:
- A Master's Degree in Education or Nursing.
- At least 1 year of experience in an academic environment supporting classroom instruction or specialized tutoring support.
- ACLS and/or PALS certification.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively via telephone, computer, and in person.

Our expected salary range for this position is between $47,766 and $86,253. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law.
