We are now seeking an experienced and passionate Online Curriculum Coordinator and Instructional Designer to join our Academic Services team.

About the Role

The Online Curriculum Coordinator/Instructional Designer will play a pivotal role in developing technology-based instructional environments and resources that support the College's strategic plan. This position will work closely with instructors to design, develop, and implement high-quality online and blended courses, leveraging effective instructional design techniques and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with instructors to develop course curriculum that meets course objectives, student learning outcomes, and college guidelines.
  • Design and develop courses demonstrating knowledge and experience of effective instructional design techniques, development, implementation, and assessments in an academic environment.
  • Consult with faculty, program coordinators, and academic deans to incorporate instructional technology tools based on an active and collaborative instructional approach for all delivery methods.
  • Assist instructors with technology used within the classroom, including the Learning Management System (LMS), collaboration tools, synchronous delivery programs, and student assessment tools.
  • Oversee the development of master course shells to be used within the divisions, ensuring continuous improvement and Quality Matters (or similar) standards.
  • Lead course and training development teams, serving as instructional designer, course developer, and project manager for LMS upgrades and conversion.
  • Evaluate, test, assess, and provide recommendations on emerging instructional technologies and technology enhancements.
  • Conduct needs assessments to ensure college and departmental objectives are met.
  • Assist with the development of educational technology policies as needed.
  • Serve on internal and external committees, councils, or task forces.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education, or a related area.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the field of instructional design, training, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in instructional technology, instructional design, or education.
  • At least two years of project management experience.
  • Prior experience in the use and operation of learning management systems, webinar software/tools, video/editing tools, graphic programs, and other common instructional technologies.
  • Prior work experience in the field of teaching/instruction.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to write and edit instructional material and training documents.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems, webinar software/tools, video/editing tools, graphic programs, and other common instructional technologies.
  • Ability to design and deliver interactive training on graphics, multimedia, productivity, web-based, and social media applications.
  • Knowledge of higher education, online/blended delivery, legal, and ethical guidelines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with instructors from diverse backgrounds.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $40,000 to $50,000 per year, depending on experience.
