About the Role: Online Full-Time Faculty - Science/Chemistry Hybrid
We're seeking a highly qualified and experienced Online Full-Time Faculty member to teach CHM-101 Introduction to General, Organic, and Biochemistry courses. This is a hybrid role, requiring both remote work and on-site presence at GCU's primary campus situated at 33rd and Camelback. As a Full-Time Faculty member, you'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse online student population, facilitate engaging online classes, and mentor students to achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Instruction: Facilitate online classes, teaching subjects relevant to the learning needs of students, and facilitate engaging individual and group instructional activities.
 - Mentoring and Advising: Mentor and advise students in concert with the graduation team members to support their academic success.
 - Assessment and Feedback: Provide qualitative, holistic feedback to support the numerical score awarded for assignments, and compile, administer, and grade examinations meeting prescribed deadlines.
 - Course Leadership: Act as a course lead, providing guidance and mentorship to GCU's online adjunct faculty teaching the same classes, and collaborate with our curriculum design team to ensure alignment and coherence in course delivery.
 - Professional Development: Remain current in field(s) of expertise through ongoing, continuous learning, and fulfill required faculty development sessions.
 - Service and Administration: May participate in department, college, and university committees, research activities, and other administrative tasks as necessary.
 
Essential Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in the field of expertise, including a minimum of 18 hours in the teaching area. Doctoral Degree required for teaching in the Doctoral College.
 - Certifications/Licenses: Depending on discipline/college, may require active licensure in field.
 - Background Investigation: Able to pass pre-employment background investigation.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching Experience: 3 years' higher education teaching experience preferred.
 
Skills and Competencies:
- Online Teaching: Experience in teaching online courses and familiarity with online learning platforms.
 - Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, faculty, and staff.
 - Subject Matter Expertise: Strong knowledge and expertise in the field of Chemistry, with the ability to stay current with developments in the field.
 - Leadership: Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to adjunct faculty and contribute to the development of course curriculum.
