About the Role
As an Online Visiting Professor for Global Supply Chain Management at DeVry University, you'll have the opportunity to share your industry expertise and experience with our students. You'll be responsible for teaching practitioner-based programs in various instructional areas, developing course materials, and facilitating student learning in an online environment. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and provide students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
- Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Utilize appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions to prepare the course and make it accessible to students.
- Model effective oral and written communications that engage students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
- Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weight distribution of various evaluation categories.
- Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
- Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the university.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following qualifications:
- A Master's degree is required; a Doctoral degree is preferred (with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching).
- Qualifying credentials must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Administration, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation.
- Requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.
- Excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
- Ability to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups.
