Key Responsibilities
- Assist walk-in students in math, physics, and chemistry courses, including MATH 104/125/126/127, CHEM 130/150/170, and PHSX 210/212
- Manage weekly, small study groups, track attendance, and provide general support to participants
- Assist with the administration and supervision of practice exams offered periodically throughout the semester
- Demonstrate a strong aptitude in multiple subject areas, with a preference for those who can support multiple courses
- Maintain a consistent weekly schedule, with flexibility to accommodate changing student needs
Essential Qualifications
- Have taken the classes being hired to tutor (or equivalents) and passed with grades of B or better
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours during the semester term of the appointment (or meet specific summer session requirements)
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, as evidenced by application materials and interview
Preferred Qualifications
- Have taken the classes being hired to tutor (or equivalents) and passed with a grade of A or better
- Proficiency in multiple subjects, with a strong background in math, physics, and chemistry
- Prior experience tutoring, teaching, or coaching, with a proven track record of success
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, instructors, and staff
