About the Team

Our Tax Team is at the forefront of DoorDash's growth, and we're looking for a key contributor to support the technology and data needs of the entire tax organization. As a Manager, Tax Data & Automation, you will report to the Senior Manager, Indirect Tax Technology, and play a vital role in shaping the future of our tax data ecosystem. With our global footprint expanding across multiple business lines, we need someone with experience in implementing, using, and maintaining large ecosystems of tax data and advanced technologies.

About the Role

As a Manager, Tax Data & Automation, you will be responsible for driving innovation in tax technology and data management. You'll work closely with stakeholders to identify tax data and technology needs, define requirements, and manage implementation. Your expertise will help design new data sources and tooling to fit the tax team's needs, and you'll constantly challenge the status quo to find smarter and more efficient ways to do things.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with stakeholders to identify tax data and technology needs, define requirements, and manage implementation.
  • Partner with data & software engineers to design new data sources and tooling to fit the tax team's needs.
  • Constantly challenge the status quo and think of smarter and more efficient ways to do things.
  • Solve complex problems leveraging data on a large scale.
  • Experiment with advanced technologies such as AI and Machine Learning to bring new ideas to tax.
  • Participate in defining the Company's tax data and automation roadmap.
  • Work cross-functionally end-to-end, between our business on the front end, engineering in the middle, and accounting teams on the back end to guarantee the integrity of our tax data flows.
  • Elevate the tax team's understanding and application of automation technologies through team knowledge sharing.
  • Develop workflows in Alteryx Cloud and apply your experience to drive automation.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A BA/BS Degree in Accountancy, MIS, Computer Science, or a similar field of study.
  • Experience with managing large sets of financial data.
  • 6+ years of data and automation experience; tax-related data experience is a plus.
  • Experience developing workflows in Alteryx Cloud.
  • Deep experience running SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with technology tools such as Alteryx Desktop, Snowflake, Python.
  • Experience writing business requirements and testing to support large data projects.
  • Experience participating in the analysis and testing of new data sets.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong moral compass and compassion for others.

Preferred Qualifications

To take your application to the next level, consider having:

  • Experience with Machine Learning, Statistical Analysis, Database, and ETL best practices.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages and reviewing code for accuracy.
  • Alteryx Core Certification.
  • CMI or CMI candidate status.
