Key Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Operator I, you'll be responsible for performing a range of critical functions related to the processing of drug products. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Operating equipment for one or more production processes, including Glatt fluid bed processor, Granulation, Blending, Compression Coating, Imprinting, Banding, and Encapsulation.
  • Performing machine changeovers, cleaning, and setup as required, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal production efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting and making adjustments to maintain production specifications, ensuring product quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality standards during the manufacturing process, monitoring production outputs, and reporting any deviations or issues.
  • Completing manufacturing documents accurately and completely, maintaining precise records of production activities.
  • Maintaining compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) at all times, ensuring a safe and regulated working environment.
  • Using equipment safely and properly, following all OSHA regulations and Equipment Manuals to prevent accidents and injuries.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed as a Manufacturing Operator I, you'll need to meet our essential qualifications and possess the following skills:

  • A High School/Trade School/Vocational School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, providing a foundation in basic principles and practices.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of Production/Manufacturing experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or related industry, with a solid understanding of primary production processes.
  • Experience with equipment such as Glatt fluid bed processor, Granulation, Blending, Compression Coating, Imprinting, Banding, or Encapsulation, or a willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and processes.
  • Forklift or other related equipment certification is desirable, enhancing your versatility and value to the team.
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills, enabling you to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Good knowledge of cGMP and other pharmaceutical regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and quality in all aspects of your work.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety procedures, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Good Math and Computer Skills, including proficiency in MS Office and experience with SAP, facilitating accurate record-keeping and data management.
  • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), enabling effective collaboration and communication with your team and other stakeholders.
  • Basic A2 level English language proficiency, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), ensuring clear understanding and communication of production requirements and procedures.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

As a Manufacturing Operator I, you'll work in a manufacturing/production/laboratory environment, where you'll be exposed to various conditions, including:

  • Noise: Sufficient noise to cause distraction or possible injury to hearing.
  • Fumes: Smoky or vaporous emissions from combustion or chemical reactions.
  • Odors: Unpleasant smells from various sources.
  • Gases: Examples include carbon monoxide and helium.
  • Dust: Airborne particles from various materials.
  • Hazards: Conditions posing danger to life, health, or bodily injury, such as moving mechanical parts, working at heights, and exposure to toxic chemicals.

The physical demands of this role include:

  • Regularly using hands to handle or feel objects and communicating effectively.
  • Frequently standing, walking, sitting, and performing various physical actions like stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, and bending.
  • Bending and lifting, moving, and/or carrying objects weighing up to approximately 50-75 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate various working environments, including office, lab, warehouse, and plant floor settings.
  • Wearing applicable personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators, safety glasses/goggles, and safety shoes.
