About the Role

We are seeking high-quality teachers for all grades and subjects, including English Language Arts, Social Studies/History, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Language, and Enrichment. Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development and Instruction: Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum, develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments, and use data to inform instructional decisions.
  • Provide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needs, differentiating instruction to ensure that all students are progressing.
  • In conjunction with Special Education Teachers, work to ensure that all IEPs and student needs are met both within and outside of the classroom.
  • Help build a positive school and classroom culture by embodying and maintaining school's values, policies, and culture, developing positive relationships with students, families, teachers, staff, and community members, and establishing and maintaining strong communication with all families and sharing progress.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students, and have fun and spread joy!
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset by pursuing challenging professional goals each year, giving and receiving positive and constructive feedback from colleagues, participating in school-wide and individual professional development, and being prepared to do whatever it takes for all students to learn and grow.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of two years teaching experience in an under-resourced community.
  • A passion for being a part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture.
  • Pass Criminal Background Check.
  • Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in education or a related field.
  • Experience with project-based learning, technology integration, and data-driven instruction.
  • Knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices and social-emotional learning.
  • Experience working with English language learners and students with disabilities.
