Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities in the Kings Local School District. This is a leave coverage position, with anticipated dates of October 10 - December 8, 2023. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the direction and supervision of an occupational therapist to provide therapy services that improve, develop, or restore sensory motor functions impaired or lost through illness, injury, and/or deprivation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in collecting data for evaluation and conducting student observations/screenings for multifactored evaluations
- Work cooperatively with local district administrators, administrators of assigned schools, teachers, parents, occupational therapists, and other support personnel, providing consultation as needed
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in developing IEP goals to meet individual needs and to maintain complete student files for all students enrolled for service
- Provide therapy to improve, develop, or restore sensory motor functions impaired or lost through illness, injury, and/or deprivation as related to the educational program
- Summarize, record, and report data to the occupational therapist at appropriate times
- Prepare and maintain work setting, equipment, and supplies
- Carry materials to and from worksite
- Maintain an efficient and effective itinerant schedule to multiple schools
- Submit all administrative reports and forms by the deadline stipulated
- Remain current in the profession and actively participate in growth and development programs
Essential Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Occupational Therapy Assistant License
- Associate Degree
- Valid Ohio Department of Education Occupational Therapy Assistant License
- Valid Ohio driver's license
- Access to own motor vehicle
- Effective communication skills in English
- Ability to maneuver stairs unassisted
- Pass criminal background check

- Prior experience working with students with disabilities
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
