Our Remote Work Environment

As a fully remote team, we use technology to stay connected and collaborate effectively. The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Senior Gameplay Engineer to join our team in developing an original, non-violent MMORPG. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining gameplay and content systems, as well as data-driven tooling in Unreal Engine. Your focus will be on the moment-to-moment "game-experience" aspects of the project, working closely with our design team and other engineers to translate designs into polished player experiences and high-performance client and server code.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain gameplay and content systems, focusing on the instant-to-second "game-experience" aspects of the project
• Work closely with the design team and other engineers to translate designs into polished player experiences and high-performance client and server code
• Build and maintain data-driven tooling in Unreal Engine to support game development
• Collaborate with the team to identify and prioritize project requirements and goals
• Troubleshoot and optimize game performance, ensuring a seamless player experience

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Experience in bringing moment-to-moment gameplay (e.g., controls, character, camera) to a delivery-friendly level
• A proven track record of shipping multiplayer projects
• Strong C++ programming and debugging skills
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with a remote team environment
• Professional experience with Unreal Engine and a deep understanding of game engine components and architecture

Nice to Have:

• Animation programming experience
• Experience shipping games that support touch input, as well as keyboard and mouse
• Background in building data-driven tooling, preferably with a designer
• Live service development experience
• Familiarity with or interest in automated testing
