About the Role

As a Senior Information Researcher at blithequark, you'll be responsible for developing and refining models that drive our retail business forward. Your expertise in AI algorithms, linear algebra, probability theory, statistics, and optimization theory will be crucial in analyzing complex data sets, identifying trends, and implementing algorithmic solutions. You'll work closely with business stakeholders and fellow researchers to design and develop a cutting-edge platform that enables more accurate and efficient demand forecasting and cost estimation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced statistical models and AI algorithms to forecast demand for thousands of products, driving business decisions and optimizing inventory management.
  • Collaborate with business clients and researchers to design and develop a scalable platform for demand forecasting and cost estimation, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, anomalies, and insights, and develop data visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Implement and test algorithms, ensuring adherence to best practices in model development, coding standards, and documentation.
  • Coordinate the investigation, debugging, and resolution of issues in software and infrastructure, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive resolution.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in demand forecasting and pricing strategies.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A 3-year degree in Quantitative disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience building Time Series Forecasting models, Estimating models, ML models, or optimization algorithms.
  • Strong quantitative skills, including experience with Statistical Inference, Generalized Linear Models, and Markov Decision Processes.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, R, or Java.
  • Deep understanding of data structures and algorithm design.
  • Ability to test and quantify algorithms, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following skills and experience will be highly valued:

  • Experience with cloud-based technologies and big data processing.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across time zones.
