Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain network systems, including Cisco hardware
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including LAN infrastructure, testing, and designing software
- Collaborate with service providers to restore service and minimize business disruption
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of network systems, including incident reports and resolution steps
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers, teams, and other support personnel
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to network issues outside of regular business hours
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve network systems and processes
- Work with vendors to procure necessary equipment for network systems
- Identify, analyze, and resolve network switching and transmission system issues
- Develop and maintain a proactive daily task list to ensure network systems are running smoothly
Essential Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in a support-related field or network administration
- Fundamental understanding of Ethernet, Fiber, Frame Relay, AVPN, ISDN, Dedicated IP, and Routing protocols
- Basic knowledge of network equipment and software, including switches, routers, and wireless controllers
- Fundamental understanding of subnetting, VLANs, and network geography
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, phone etiquette, and customer service skills
- Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues
- Experience or understanding of ITIL/Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and Request processes
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and positive, mature, professional demeanor
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Process-oriented, with an understanding of the benefits of processes and the need for compliance
- Ability to explain technical terms to non-technical audiences
- Proactive and innovative, with a strong desire to continuously improve
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment
- Great understanding of business warehouse and distribution center operations
- Basic knowledge of network monitoring tools to aid in issue detection and resolution
- CCNA certification or studying for CCNA
- Networking degree
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Google Apps Script, etc.)
