About the Role: Customer Development Manager (B2C)

We're seeking an experienced Customer Development Manager to lead sales-related activities for Target, supporting Vital Proteins, Orgain, and other blithequark brands. As a remote-based opportunity, this role requires a strategic and customer-focused leader to drive growth, develop strong relationships, and execute sales plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic relationships throughout Target, focusing on divisional wins, displays, distribution gains, and ACV enhancement.
  • Establish strong working relationships with internal teams, including Customer Strategy, Finance, and Customer Service.
  • Gain a deep understanding of Target's go-to-market model, including Category Management strategy.
  • Deliver target budget plans and new product distribution goals.
  • Execute brand and category growth strategies aligned with Target's objectives.
  • Identify new growth opportunities and develop strategic written sales plans.
  • Maintain clear understanding of customer objectives and liaise with RVP to develop operational plans.
  • Foster and grow existing and new relationships within the account.
  • Educate business partners on products, retail goals, and measurement of success.
  • Deliver customer presentations demonstrating innovation, shelf positioning, promotions, and pricing.
  • Manage daily business with customers, including UPC product setup, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Sell-in new products and promotions to qualified retailers.
  • Work with customers to implement retail initiatives and monitor retail standards.
  • Manage contracts, focusing on strategic alignment and market position.
  • Input data into Trade Investment Management (TIM) and Osprey systems.
  • Provide monthly reporting, sales analytics, and insights.
  • Manage P&L within the account coverage.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a sales role, with at least 2 years of experience managing large B2C customers.
  • Sales experience in the grocery, drug, and/or mass retail channels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Prior experience using syndicated data to determine customer needs.
  • Account management and sales planning experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
  • Strong financial acumen and P&L management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Direct selling experience with Target.
  • Experience with project management and setting up projects in a complex environment.
  • Knowledge of relationship management and experience working with partners.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
