In this role you will:
• Ensure delivery of excellent customer service by guiding staff and implementing policies and solving problems.
• Serve as a member of a branch management team, participating in planning and organizing the work of the branch.
• Lead or assist in leading the day-to-day operations of a library branch.
• Serve as an on-site manager or assistant manager, supervising, training, evaluating as well as coaching and mentoring staff.
• Develop, provide, and evaluate training to a diverse staff, throughout the Department.
• Respond directly to customer concerns, suggestions, and complaints.
• Serve on workgroups and committees designed to encourage communication and problem solving across all levels of the organization

You will need to have:
• An MLS, MLIS or similar American Library Association accredited degree
• 4 years of professional library experience
Hours for this position are:
Library hours of operation are 7 days a week including nights. Employees are expected to be available for work during these times. Individual schedules, including nights and weekends, will vary based on branch operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Four (4) years of professional library experience.
Education: Master's degree in Library Science or Library Information Science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association.
Equivalency: None.
LICENSE: Employees will be responsible for maintaining appropriate level of contact hours to sustain State licensure requirements for this position.

Preferred Criteria
The applications of those individuals meeting the minimum qualifications will be reviewed to determine the extent, relevancy of training, and experience in the following areas: * Leading diverse teams, coaching and/or supervising personnel, including providing input to or creating performance evaluations and staff schedules
