Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is one of the largest human services providers in California. The agency operates a variety of programs to serve the poor and strives to find permanent solutions to crisis situations by offering clients the tools and resources needed to achieve greater self-reliance and stability in their lives. Catholic Charities operates 18 community centers and 10 homeless shelters and also serves the poor with multi-faceted programs, including: after-school childcare; immigration, refugee, youth employment and psychological services; homework assistance and tutoring; English as a Second Language (ESL) and General Education diploma (GED) classes for adults; and services for homebound seniors and pregnant and parenting youth. In this way, Catholic Charities maintains a continuum of care for clients as they move from vulnerability to self-sufficiency We are looking for a Program Director to oversee our Immigration and Refugee Services program. The person in this role manages all aspects of Catholic Charities’ programs in a region, including program development, financial management, resource development, strategic planning, quality improvement, program operations and assessment. Responsibilities: • * Direct and supervise assigned program staff and volunteers. • Responsible for the fiscal and human resources implementation with the region. • Maintain liaison with key governmental, Agency and community leaders in the region. • Plan, organize and conduct approved programs in accordance with official directives and applicable contract provisions and government regulations. • Supervises program staff responsible for implementation of programs and maintenance of program records in accordance with approved standards and practices. • Implement program policies and procedures to ensure contractual and legal compliance as well as program performance standards. • Participates in fundraising activities • Serves as community liaison. • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with other agencies and community groups. • Promotes continuous quality improvement and service delivery that is aligned with the Agency’s mission. • Displays sensitivity to the client population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. • Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications: • * Master’s degree in a related field. • Five to seven years of related experience including three years in a supervisory position. • Direction, evaluation, training and supervision of staff. • Design and implement effective programs. • Handle public contact and relations effectively. • Communicate effectively in written and oral form. • Display sensitivity, tact and responsiveness in various situations and needs. • Develop and maintain effective working relationships. • Use independent judgment and initiative. • Maintain high level of confidentiality. • Planning short- and long-range goals. • Administrative principles and their application. • Community social resources and government agencies. • Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation. • Fundraising techniques. • Applicable state and federal laws and regulations. • Appropriate handbooks and reference materials. • Budget preparation and management.
