Our Credit Card-as-a-Service ("CaaS") platform is a collection of cloud native API products and services that are led by technology and being built with a product mindset; shifting away from how legacy card issuers work today. We are building our platform offering to attract digitally native brand partners who seek best in class API Card Products that can be seamlessly embedded into their digital brand customer experience. The CaaS team operates from a Product-led API first approach working “outside-in” to ensure we are focused on meeting the customers’ needs up front. This means, we obsess over delivering high value experiences for customers and users at each step.

Role Description:
About This Role:
We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master who can ensure the agile software development processes are followed by the team. The Scrum Master must have confidence to remove obstacles and distractions that may impede the team from meeting goals. This individual will be required to manage cross-functionally between the software development product team and people or teams outside the Scrum team.
• Scheduling and conducting meetings such as Daily standups or Huddle meetings, One on ones, Sprint planning, and Retrospectives - Ensuring everyone on the team is on the same page while they engage in short bursts of productive software development work (sprints).
• Scrum board administration (JIRA boards) where the visualization of sprint progress is tracked (todo’s, doing, done, backlog…). They are responsible for detailing all the tasks (stories) at hand and those already completed across a sprint while holding team members accountable to commitments. The scrum master is also accountable for investigating tasks or stories that are not moving along and optimize the board for optimal team performance
• Support and motivate teams according to the scrum framework while developing self-organizing teams that are empowered to “DO”. They also operate in the background, identifying blockers that get in the way of productive work. The scrum master must have excellent interpersonal communication skills that help them support and motivate developers daily.
• Having a bird’s eye view of software development requires a person to oversee it by having a working knowledge of the software development process, including its various steps via code implementation, unit testing, deployments, quality assurance, functional and nonfunctional requirement development, etc. a scrum master must know about the organization’s expectations from engineers so they can better negotiate the team’s productivity patterns per scrum practices.
• Proficient in agile methodologies and scrum management as SME’s in:
• Scrum Theory - Ability to make decisions from what teams observe and minimize both waste and risk.
• Scrum Values - Embrace 5 values to maximize potential of scrum - commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage ("No Fear”)
• Scrum Events - Identify milestones that enable scrum success - sprints, daily scrums, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives
• Scrum Artifacts - Creating deliverables that enable transparency and drive the work forward
Role Responsibilities:
• Servant leader: Serves and supports the needs of the other team members and helps them achieve optimal results in terms of customer requirements and organizational goals
• Coach or guru: Ability to focus on the individual development of each team member helping to improve the engineer’s mindset or behavior to bring out their full potential
• Mentor and teacher: Educates team members on agile principles and how to follow scrum rules by teaching the team agile development in the nuances of the model
• Facilitator or impediment remover: Identifies and removes roadblocks to the team’s daily progress while also encouraging collaboration, which is a cornerstone of agile development
• Manager: Manages the process-oriented aspects of scrum, such as task board administration, meetings, reviews, etc. while also trying to reduce waste and optimize processes where possible
• Change advocate: Challenges the status quo and natures cultural change within an organization while also fostering improvements in the workplace so that teams can maintain or improve creativity and flourish

Skill Sets:
• Experience in field - Minimum 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master working with teams relevant to software product development - CSM (Certified Scrum Master), CPO (Certified Product Owner), or PMI-ACP a plus
• Training in agile development - Should have prior training in agile development practices and all its processes.
• Planning and organizational skills - Must have excellent organizational skill sets with or without agile training and capable of enforcing a clear sprint plan
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and basic understanding of cloud native development
• Conflict resolution skills - Must be capable of addressing interpersonal grievances and dissatisfaction at individual level regarding different personalities, pressures dealing with strict timelines and delivery expectations
• Coaching and mentorship capabilities - Must be able to offer strategic support as and when required, coaching team members to perform at their best.
• Communication and listening skills - Must be able to listen to others and also make themselves heard when the situation demands.
• Negotiation and expectation management - Ability to speak with different stakeholders and enforce a sprint plan that is suitable for all. It must healthily drive developer productivity while meeting the expectations of product management, Technology and Business at the same time.
• Excellent negotiation skills - The scrum master needs to balance the needs of the business to the development team.
• Estimation and forecasting - Must be capable of estimating which plans and task permutations or combinations have the highest chance of working out while also having the foresight to anticipate problems before they emerge. Must be comfortable to change directions based on competing priorities.
• Problem-solving capabilities - Should be able to think outside the box if extraneous circumstances arise.
• Adaptability to rules and processes - Must bring genuine respect for rules and processes, coupled with their understanding of the rationale behind scrum. The job role involves daily outlining tasks and procedures based on a well-defined guidebook and set of values. The candidate should have the personality and soft skills necessary to embody these rules and enforce them meaningfully throughout a sprint.
