The IP Manager collaborates with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention best practices across the enterprise. Duties include: • Assist with development, implementation, and evaluation of the enterprise infection prevention program, with a focus on surgical services, including ambulatory surgical centers and surgical hospitals across the enterprise. • Direct development of facility annual surveillance plans based on the population(s) served, services provided, and analysis of surveillance data. • Utilize epidemiologic principles to conduct targeted surveillance and investigations. • Develop, interpret and assist with implementation of infection prevention and control. policies and protocols. • Communicate infection prevention and control information and data to various stakeholders across the enterprise. • Assess and address learning needs of those served. • Create educational goals, objectives, and strategies using learning principles and available educational tools and technology. • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and learner outcomes • Ensure compliance with regulatory and mandatory reporting requirements at the local, state and federal levels. • Facilitate compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. • Stay current on infection prevention and control regulatory and accreditation standards • Function as a subject matter expert and problem solver. • Utilize performance improvement methodology as a means of enacting sustained improvements. • Ensure that customer needs and expectations are considered in the development of and continuous improvement of processes, products, and services. • Design and analyze process and outcome measures to evaluate the effectiveness and sustainability. • Direct committees, teams and initiatives as needed. Education: Required: Master degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, or related field. Work Experience: At least 3 years of Infection Prevention experience at the level of a multi facility health system. • Director or manager level experience required. • Experience with acute care, ambulatory care, an surgical settings required.
