About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Digital Communications Manager to develop and manage the charity's digital channels, engaging key audiences, and increasing public awareness about educational equality. This is a part-time, permanent role that requires a strong understanding of social media strategy, content creation, and digital advertising.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to drive engagement with member organisations and the public.
  • Create compelling, creative, and engaging content for various digital channels, including social media, websites, and email newsletters.
  • Manage and maintain a strong online presence through effective use of social media tools like Buffer and Hootsuite.
  • Utilize creative software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and online tools like Canva to produce high-quality visual content.
  • Design, implement, and manage paid social media advertising campaigns to achieve specific goals and objectives.
  • Work with website content management systems to create and update web content, ensuring a cohesive digital presence.
  • Monitor and analyze digital performance metrics to inform future communications strategies.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure alignment with the charity's overall mission and goals.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven experience in developing and delivering social media strategies in a professional context.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and engaging content.
  • Proficiency in using social media tools like Buffer and Hootsuite, as well as creative software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva.
  • Experience in creating and managing paid social media advertising campaigns.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems and the ability to create and update web content.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret digital performance metrics and inform future strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A background in charity or non-profit sector communications.

As a part-time, remote role, you'll enjoy the flexibility to work from anywhere, with the occasional requirement to visit our London (Victoria) office (approximately two days a month). Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in the world for up to 6 weeks per year.
