About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Per Diem / PRN Polysomnographer to join our team at Gilmore Amory, Mississippi. As a Registered Sleep Lab Technologist, you will be responsible for conducting sleep testing procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining quality recordings in accordance with American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines. This is a remote-based per diem position, offering a competitive hourly rate of $22+ per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform sleep testing procedures, including the application of patient monitoring devices and calibration of recording instruments, in accordance with established AASM guidelines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for patients requiring sleep diagnostic testing, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Serve as a resource for non-credentialed Polysomnographic Technologists (PSGTs) and provide guidance on sleep testing procedures.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to ensure understanding and compliance with testing procedures, patient safety, and ability to participate in testing.
  • Continuously monitor patient activity and maintain quality recordings through recognition and correction of artifactual data, while remaining vigilant of patient safety and comfort.
  • Score polysomnograms and computer-generated records based on AASM, Rechtshaffer, and Kales scoring criteria.
  • Maintain accurate records, provide complete clinical information, and ensure accurate patient charging.
  • Assure equipment and supply availability, maintain inventories, and update reference manuals as needed.
  • Perform daily maintenance and calibration on sleep testing equipment and serve as a resource person for other departments.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of educational lectures, conferences, and promotional activities.
  • Act as a point of contact for issues pertaining to sleep testing and diagnostic studies.
  • Collect and analyze Performance Improvement data, including appointment delay times, and review insurance eligibility.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT-SDS) certification.
  • Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills required to provide care to a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Previous experience in sleep diagnostics or a related field.
