About the Job

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of cross-group collaboration, serving as the go-to expert for accounting partners in the data and engineering spaces, creating a unique blend of responsibilities. Your days will be filled with analyzing data using SQL and Python, conducting in-depth data analysis and review, preparing complex drawings and flows, and contributing to pivotal accounting research and design requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Operational Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other business partners on policies, processes, and projects, and help drive key system initiatives and enhancements.
  • Create and design comprehensive accounting data requirements to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to further streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close schedule.
  • Monitor data quality of journal entries prepared via the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases through accounting requirements design, ad-hoc analyses, new product launches, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve our daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation analysis with the help of the analytics team.
  • Review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance meetings and assess impact on existing or need for new accounting requirements for the Revenue Subledger.
  • Cross-work with collaborating teams on the journal entry flows for new or existing products for automation via the Revenue Subledger.
  • Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including but not limited to: GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, debt claims reconciliations, review journal entries, and audit close package expectations.
  • Ad-hoc analyses and projects as assigned.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

We're excited about you because you have:

  • 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, or business insight.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition required; knowledge of IFRS an or more.
  • Intermediate/advanced SQL skills and ability to work with large volumes of complex data, Python an or more.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Ability to engage with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and remotely.
