Support Engineer III, Ordering

The Component Reversal Workflow (CROW) team owns the refund platform and its mission is to provide internal Amazon clients with refunds eligibility, administer refunds creation, orchestrate refund execution for various business needs worldwide, and ensure accounting completeness. We are recruiting an exceptional Support Engineer with a strong passion for operational excellence.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Own & drive operational excellence initiatives in Refunds Space within the Ordering Services group</li><li>Triage & resolve issues using dashboards & tools</li><li>Drive root cause analysis of repeated issues</li><li>Automate solutions for repeated issues</li><li>Develop tools to aid operations and maintenance</li><li>Update knowledge base with new issues for future reference</li><li>Review processes and look for optimizations and improvements</li><li>Identify process improvements to better manage operations</li></ul><h2>Basic qualifications</h2><ul><li>Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design</li><li>3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems</li><li>3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience</li></ul><h2>Preferred qualifications</h2><ul><li>Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (C/C++ and/or Java) on a UNIX or Linux platform</li><li>Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems architectures, algorithms, and relational databases</li><li>Experience with data warehouse technologies</li><li>Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions</li><li>Ability to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems and think abstractly</li><li>Experience with system architecture/design</li><li>Experience with distributed systems operating in a scalable/high-volume environment</li></ul><p>Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
