Job Description: Leading the Way in Digital Solutions

As a REMOTE: Lead Consultant (React/NextJS Full Stack), you will be a player/coach leader for hybrid teams, providing technical subject matter expertise and mentoring internal technical consultants in their career growth and development. You will be responsible for client deliverables, internal leadership of technical consulting professionals, and driving the success of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build strong client, industry, and technical community relationships, representing Apex Systems as leaders in industry and professional events and communities.
• Demonstrate expert-level technical knowledge, skills, and effective professional consulting skills, serving as a subject matter expert and building trust and respect among internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead team members and direct reports to produce high-quality deliverables, meet project deadlines, and take responsibility for engagement and team success.
• Coach and manage direct reports, maintaining strong employee engagement and productivity, and demonstrate a passion for quality and process improvement.
• Participate in sales pursuits, providing technical guidance, estimates, scoping, and other pre-sales activities, and continually innovate, seeking creative solutions and new ways of adding value.
• Participate in the technical community at Apex to help define and deliver Apex best practices.

Essential Qualifications:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in software development and engineering.
• 2+ years of experience successfully leading software development teams and projects.
• Senior/Lead level experience in React development (ideally version 19), with experience in React Server Components, React Server Actions, and using Canary in React.
• Strong experience in Next.js (version 14+), with experience in using App Router and writing UI and integrations with other services being called within Next.js.
• Ability to hold conversations and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Prior customer-facing and presentation experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in best practices for software development, and the ability to evolve those practices according to technology and business trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ year of working with nearshore/offshore teams.
• 1+ year of consulting experience.
• Experience with Tailwind 3+, DevOps, testing in Vitest, React-testing library, or Playwright, and Figma DevMode.
• Broad understanding of software architecture principles, patterns, and design concepts.
• Experience working in Agile software development and mentorship of engineers of varying seniority levels.
• BA/BS in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields, or applicable education and experience.

• Strong analytical skills and the aptitude to quickly identify gaps and risks.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to engineering and business partners.
• Comfortable presenting to large internal groups and leadership team members.
• Positive relationship builder, able to navigate through complex situations to ensure the most robust and pragmatic solution.
• High level of independence and autonomy.
