About the Role: Powerplant Engineer

The Powerplant Designing Groups at Southwest Airlines work closely with relevant departments and Field Administration Architects to direct motor and Assistant Power Unit (APU) maintenance requirements. As a Powerplant Engineer, you will collaborate with powerplant manufacturers, such as CFM, and motor Support Specialist organizations to address technical, maintenance, and operational issues. Your expertise will be instrumental in evaluating engineering report strategies and methodology to determine if changes are required, ensuring that all motor maintenance, both on-wing and off-wing, is coordinated and approved by Powerplant Designing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on various size engineering projects in a maintenance or operations environment, applying your technical expertise to drive project success.
  • As a entry-level engineer, gain hands-on experience with aircraft under management, developing your skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.
  • Assist with special projects and events as requested, demonstrating your flexibility and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Utilize your organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders through clear and concise written and oral communication.

Essential Qualifications:
