Position Summary

As a Remote Special Education Onboarding Specialist, you'll be responsible for coordinating and processing intake documentation for students with IEPs, collaborating with families, school staff, and external organizations to ensure student success. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve all stakeholders with integrity, humility, and joy, consistently modeling the importance of task competency and relationships;
  • Review new student files for accuracy and completeness, coordinating with records team members to ensure timely and accurate file completion;
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with new families within the first two weeks of their child's special education programming start date;
  • Mentor new families for three to six months, providing guidance and support as they adjust to a new school environment;
  • Exercise discretion and judgment when facilitating the transfer of relationships, ownership, and information to special education caseload managers;
  • Gather and utilize student data to inform special education decision-making and processes;
  • Schedule and facilitate transfer and initial special education meetings, ensuring accurate and high-quality transfer documents within the first 30 days of student start date;
  • Monitor and maintain impeccable student documents and files within company data systems;
  • Liaise with parents and Special Education Documentation Analysts to ensure accurate and appropriate student evaluations;
  • Assist with departmental projects as directed and perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education; a Master's degree in Special Education is preferred;
  • Ability to obtain Special Education licenses (or approved equivalent) in Colorado, Arizona, and Washington; active licenses in these states are preferred;
  • A minimum of three years of Special Education experience, including two years of experience writing and utilizing IEP documentation;
  • Experience with SPED/IEP related software programs (e.g., eIEPPro, Frontline, Enrich);
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and serve others with humility, kindness, empathy, and joy;
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of IEPs and related Special Education laws and regulations;
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects;
  • Proficiency in Mac OS, Google Workspace, and Asana is preferred;
  • A private, distraction-free, professional remote work environment with high-speed internet;
  • Ability to work 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Friday Mountain Time.
