We are seeking a passionate and experienced 7th/8th Grade Multisensory Math Tutor/Teacher/Instructor/Specialist to join our team of dedicated educators.
About the Role
This is an exciting remote opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic math educator to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students. As a 7th/8th Grade Multisensory Math Tutor/Teacher/Instructor/Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with students in a one-on-one setting, creating personalized lesson plans that cater to their individual needs and learning styles. If you are a research and pedagogy nerd, enjoy solving the puzzle of a student who doesn't learn like anyone else, and are passionate about teaching with pictures and games, then this role is perfect for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with students in 25 to 55-minute sessions weekly, primarily in the afternoons and evenings
 - Assess student's starting point using our game-centered assessment
 - Curate lesson plans tailored to your students using our templates as starting points
 - Email parents once a week to communicate progress
 - Attend team meetings to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices
 
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or a Math-Related Field such as Engineering
 - Good communication skills with parents and students
 - Patient and able to adjust to the mood of the student
 - Able to teach in a fun and enthusiastic way
 - At least 3+ years of teaching experience
 - Ability to work a minimum of 14 hours with students per week, primarily Monday-Thursday between 2 PM - 10 PM Central Time
 - Plus 7 hours of lesson planning/admin time for an average of 21 hours per week (all paid)
 
Preferred qualifications include experience working with students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and autism, as well as familiarity with multisensory math instruction.
