Job Overview
The Associate Dean of Community Education and Workforce Development is a senior leadership position that provides strategic direction and oversight of the Community Education department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing community educational needs, developing and implementing a balanced curriculum of classes, and cultivating relationships with internal and external partners. Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction, and oversight of the Community Education staff, adjunct faculty, and programs
 - Assess the educational needs of the diverse community in Massasoit's service area and customize educational programming to meet community needs
 - Develop new courses and training programs in collaboration with employers, community partners, and Massasoit faculty and staff
 - Implement effective strategies to cultivate and grow relationships with past, current, and potential Community Education students and partners
 - Develop and maintain professional relationships with employers and leaders of various business, industry, and community-based organizations
 - Hire, orient, assign, supervise, and evaluate Community Education instructors
 - Oversee the scheduling and assignment of Community Education instructors for day, evening, weekend, online, hybrid, and video conference classes
 - Support and collaborate with Community Education instructors on the inclusion of high-impact practices in their teaching strategies
 - Align curricula and programs with third-party state, federal, and industry-recognized accreditation bodies
 - Oversee Community Education student registrations and collaborate with the Registrar's Office
 - Maintain an organized system of tracking Community Education registrations, enrollments, and revenue
 - Manage day-to-day activities of Community Education instructors and students, including attempting to solve first-level student and instructor issues
 - Evaluate, analyze, and report meaningful student outcome data and other successes of the Community Education programs
 - Collaborate with the Grants Department staff in writing, submitting, and obtaining grants to support Community Education programming and/or student tuition
 - Oversee and administer awarded grants
 - Write clear year-end grant reports as required
 - Recruit, orient, supervise, and evaluate full-time and part-time professional Community Education staff
 - Lead strategic planning efforts for future Community Education programming
 - Assist the College with college-wide strategic planning, committee participation, program development issues, funding or grant issues, etc. as needed
 - Create Community Education promotional materials and marketing strategies in collaboration with College staff
 - Serve as Cost Center Manager for the department's budgets and associated grants
 - Plan, secure, and maintain the equipment and materials needed to deliver specific Community Education activities
 
Requirements
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
 - Minimum of 3-5 years of community college academic administrative experience or equivalent
 - Grant writing and grant administration experience
 - Attention to detail
 - Ability to develop, administer, and manage budgets
 - Ability to analyze data
 - Experience with programs in the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
 - Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Master's degree
 - Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priority assignments
 - Make sound recommendations and offer viable solutions about complex management and administrative issues
 - Understanding of the community college history, mission, and its diverse students
 - Demonstrated awareness of current trends in community education, workforce education, and local labor market trends
 - Demonstrated understanding of curriculum development and instructional technology related to education, behavioral, and social science research trends
 - Demonstrated understanding of the community college mission and role with a focus on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
 - Demonstrated ability to think strategically and the ability to match community education and workforce development needs to college resources
 - Strong team and relationship-building skills
 - Outstanding creativity and strong customer service skills
 - Strong personnel supervision skills
 - Strong public speaking and group facilitation skills
 - Excellent written communications skills
