Job Overview

We are seeking passionate and experienced Part-Time Clinical Nursing Faculty to join our team at the Tyson's Corner VA campus, partnering with healthcare organizations across Tyson's Corner, Stafford, and Fredericksburg VA, Washington DC, and Prince George's County, White Oak, Silver Spring, Cheverly, and Annapolis MD areas. This is an exceptional opportunity for nurses with solid clinical experience and a completed MSN to develop their nurse educator skills, contributing to the largest nursing school in the nation. No teaching experience is required, making this an ideal role for those looking to transition into education or share their expertise with the next generation of nurses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
  • Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments, planning clinical experiences for and providing direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care.
  • Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their level of performance based on course objectives, offering remediation as required or needed.
  • Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of agency/clinical personnel.
  • Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students' knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs, grading homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
  • May teach didactic course content under the supervision of the course coordinator, keeping them informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.

Essential Qualifications

  • A master's (MSN) or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • An unencumbered professional nursing license in Virginia or NLC Compact state.
  • At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
  • Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
  • Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning, with exceptional subject matter expertise and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in clinical teaching or education.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and implementation.
  • Experience with online learning platforms and technology-enhanced instruction.
  • Leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting.
