Job Overview
As a Cook Manager Food Service Coordinator, you will play a vital role in our Food Service Department, responsible for managing the daily operations of our school cafeteria. Your primary focus will be on providing nutritious and delicious meals to our students, while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This is a part-time position, working 27.5 hours per week, with a competitive salary range of $17.00 - $20.85 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch to approximately 30 students, ensuring that meals are nutritious, appetizing, and meet federal and state guidelines.
 - Cashiering and Customer Service: Manage the cashiering process, handle customer transactions, and provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and parents.
 - Inventory Management and Ordering: Maintain accurate inventory records, order food and supplies, and ensure that the cafeteria is well-stocked and organized.
 - Kitchen Clean-up and Maintenance: Ensure that the kitchen and cafeteria areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
 - Record-Keeping and Compliance: Maintain accurate records, including inventory, sales, and nutritional data, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
 
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- ServSafe Certification: Obtain ServSafe certification within the first 6 months of hire, demonstrating your knowledge of food safety and handling practices.
 - Prior Food Service Experience: Have previous experience in food service, preferably in a school or institutional setting, with a strong understanding of food preparation, safety, and sanitation practices.
 - Excellent Customer Service Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, and parents.
 - Organizational and Time Management Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
