About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Online Visiting Professor to join our team in teaching students in our Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) online program. As a Part-Time Online Visiting Professor, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and knowledge with aspiring nurse leaders and educators. This 100% online teaching role offers flexibility and convenience, allowing you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students from the comfort of your own home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, including terminal course objectives.
  • Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Utilize appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions, to prepare the course and make it accessible to students.
  • Model effective oral and written communications that engage students, provide clarity, and improve student learning outcomes.
  • Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weight distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives, demonstrating consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams.
  • Provide timely feedback to students, guiding them towards academic success and professional growth.
  • Complete other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the DNP program and Chamberlain University.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications:

  • MSN and DNP or PhD in Nursing degree, demonstrating expertise in the field of nursing education and practice.
  • An active nursing license (Compact/Multi-State RN License preferred), ensuring you are up-to-date with the latest nursing practices and regulations.
  • 2+ years of experience as an academic DNP project faculty advisor, showcasing your ability to guide and mentor students in their academic and professional pursuits.
  • Online teaching experience, highlighting your proficiency in using technology to deliver high-quality education and engage students in a virtual environment.
  • Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses, ensuring compliance with state licensing requirements.
  • Required subject matter expertise and outstanding written communication skills, with familiarity with APA style and guidelines.
  • Excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment, demonstrating your ability to adapt to the needs of students from varied backgrounds.
