Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate
  • Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests, ensuring that each student receives a personalized learning experience
  • Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health, providing constructive feedback and support to ensure student success
  • Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity
  • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress, and to determine priorities for their children's social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to resolve students' behavioral and academic concerns, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to succeed
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations, ensuring that student data is accurate and up-to-date
  • Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic issues or special academic interests, providing individualized support and guidance to ensure student success
  • Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools, ensuring that our curriculum is relevant, engaging, and aligned with state standards
  • Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula, and ensuring that our teaching practices are collaborative and effective
  • Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress, ensuring that each student receives a comprehensive and supportive education
  • Administer standardized, formative, and state-mandated assessments and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need, using data to inform instruction and drive student growth
  • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence, staying up-to-date with best practices in education and instructional design

Essential Qualifications

  • Appropriate Minnesota teaching licensure, ensuring that you are qualified and certified to teach in our state
  • Effective oral and written expression, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
  • Strong communication skills, verbally, orally, and written, with the ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders and audiences
  • Prompt, regular, and reliable attendance, ensuring that you are available to support our students and contribute to our school community
  • Ability to perform routine computer functions, including the use of email and Microsoft Word, with the ability to leverage technology to enhance instruction and student learning

  • Experience teaching elementary grade levels, with a deep understanding of the curriculum and instructional strategies that support student learning
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, with the ability to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Experience with project-based learning, technology integration, and innovative instructional strategies, with the ability to design and deliver engaging and effective lessons
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines
