About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active, standards-based learning
• Assess student progress and proficiency and adjust instruction accordingly
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate online instruction
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
• Provide appropriate feedback on work and maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
• Participate in district professional development and communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress, needs, and concerns

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

• B.A./B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution
• Experience in a cross-cultural setting, with a rural Alaska setting preferred
• Familiarity with a Standard-Based System and knowledge of RTI/MTSS
• Strong interpersonal skills, including collegiality and collaboration
• Positive, enthusiastic, energetic, and optimistic approach to teaching and learning
• Commitment to excellence and the ability to implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals
• Meet professional teacher requirements of school, district, and State

• Daily rates starting at $292.39 (BA+0) to $492.89 (MA36+13) based on a 172 contract
