About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Grants Pass, OR. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Provide high-quality educational services to children with special needs, including instruction, assessment, and progress monitoring
• Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to education
• Use a variety of teaching methods and strategies to engage students and promote learning
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and involving them in the educational process
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and research-based strategies in special education

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in special education, as well as excellent teaching and communication skills. The following qualifications and requirements are essential:

• Graduate from a teaching program with a specialization in special education
• Current license as a Special Education Teacher in OR
• School experience preferred, but not required
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Excellent teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications and requirements, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

• Experience working with children with autism, emotional/behavioral disorders, or other special needs
• Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies and technologies
• Experience with positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS)
• Strong technology skills, including experience with educational software and hardware
