Job Summary
As a Retail Store Associate or Stocker, you will be responsible for performing general store operational duties, including cashiering, customer service, truck unloading, stocking, merchandise recovery, and light cleaning or maintenance. You will work collaboratively with our team to provide an exceptional customer experience, drive sales, and maintain a safe and efficient store environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet and assist customers as needed to maintain the highest level of customer service, respond to customer inquiries, and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Cashiering and Point-of-Sale Operations: Maintain and operate point-of-sale systems efficiently and accurately, process transactions, and handle customer payments.
- Customer Loyalty Program: Drive customer loyalty program participation, including sign-ups and rewards processing at check-out.
- Merchandise Management: Participate in the freight flow process, including truck unloading, stocking, merchandise presentation, and recovery.
- Furniture Department Operations: Participate in furniture department operations, including carry-outs and display assembly as needed.
- Store Maintenance: Maintain the appearance of the store's interior and exterior to company standards, including light maintenance duties and cleaning.
- Front-End Maintenance: Perform daily front-end maintenance, including check stand cleanliness, replenishment of merchandise and supplies, and floor safety.
- Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned by Store Leadership, such as cart retrieval, shrink control, and safety-related tasks.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Age: Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Customer Service and Communication Skills: Strong customer service and communication skills required.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds, and to unload freight, move product on and off of store shelves, walk, stand, bend, stoop, or kneel for long periods of time.
- Basic English Literacy and Math Skills: Basic English literacy and math skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior Retail Experience: Prior retail experience preferred.
- Cash Register Experience: Previous experience operating a cash register preferred.
