As a Customer Service Representative in our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy, you will play a vital role in achieving this mission by providing exceptional telephone support to patients receiving life-sustaining specialty drug therapy.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the overall coordination and processing of new patient medication orders and reorders. This includes verifying and revivifying benefits, translating and entering new or refill prescriptions into our pharmacy information system, communicating and collecting copay amounts, obtaining authorizations, and working with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to resolve and defer orders with accounts receivable or clinical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality telephone support to patients, insurance companies, and internal partners to ensure the timely processing of specialty medications.
  • Coordinate and process new patient medication orders and reorders, verifying benefits and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Translate and enter new or refill prescriptions into our pharmacy information system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communicate and collect copay amounts from patients, obtaining authorizations as necessary.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to screen, identify, resolve, and defer orders with accounts receivable or clinical issues.
  • Demonstrate compassionate and genuine care for patients and customers, ensuring that their needs are met in a timely and professional manner.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • One year of experience in a customer service role, handling and resolving a high volume of complex customer needs over the phone.
  • One year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications.
  • One year of computer keyboarding experience, with demonstrated skills and aptitude.
  • A verifiable high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • Healthcare work experience, with familiarity with benefits, insurance, prescriptions, and medical terminology.

Training and Schedule

Our training program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this role. The training duration is 4 weeks, with a schedule of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST. Please note that there will be a PTO blackout during this period. After training, your schedule will be 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM PST.
