As a Senior Manager of Cultural Initiatives and Production Excellence, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with our production leadership, writers' rooms, cast, and crew to develop and implement cultural activations, trainings, and strategies that promote inclusion, wellness, and cultural proficiency in the production space.

About the Role and Team

In this exciting role, you will be part of our Disney Entertainment Television (DET) production team and will report to the Vice President, HRBP Productions. You will work closely with internal partners such as Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Creative Talent Development & Inclusion (CTDI), and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), as well as external vendors and consultants to provide proactive support for our productions. Your goal will be to enhance inclusion efforts, create wellness strategies, and help build cultural proficiencies in the production space, ultimately contributing to a positive and inclusive production culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with CTDI, DEI, and CSR on outreach, inclusion, and engagement efforts in the production space to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Develop and deploy inclusion, wellness, and cultural competency strategies across all productions to ensure a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Empower show leaders to utilize resources to elevate their leadership and impact culture on their respective productions, promoting a culture of excellence and inclusion.
  • Partner with the Production HRBP team to provide ongoing subject matter expertise coaching and guidance to show leadership when needed, ensuring that our productions are supported and guided in their inclusion and wellness efforts.
  • Research, vet, and partner with external organizations to provide specialized support on productions based on identified needs, ensuring that our productions have access to the best resources and expertise.
  • Co-create and facilitate specialized workshops, trainings, or activations for any unique production needs, promoting a culture of learning and development.
  • Develop cultural and leadership learning solutions for production leadership and cast and crew in lieu of instructor-led workshops, such as online modules, vignettes, and other digital resources.
  • Manage tax-incentive program qualifications process from a DEI perspective on productions, ensuring that our productions are compliant with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • 7+ years of experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, human resources, or a people development role, with a proven track record of promoting inclusion and diversity.
  • Expertise in coaching, facilitating, training, wellness, and/or DEI, with the ability to design and deliver effective training programs and workshops.
  • An ability to connect with people, 'read' rooms, and differentiate intent from impact, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • An ability to ask hard questions, champion change, and experiment with new ideas, with a willingness to take calculated risks and try new approaches.
  • An ability to embrace candor, transparency, and collaboration, with a strong commitment to openness, honesty, and teamwork.
  • High trust and integrity, with the ability to operate with discretion and confidentiality when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to encourage, empower, and lead others, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Understanding of the production environment, with knowledge of the entertainment industry and the challenges and opportunities of working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-starter with passion, energy, and enthusiasm for making change in a large organization, with a strong commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience with collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams/SharePoint & Slack) or the ability to learn new technology, with a willingness to adapt to new systems and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in the entertainment industry, with knowledge of the production process and the challenges and opportunities of working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as human resources, organizational development, or a related field.
  • Certification in diversity, equity, and inclusion, or a related field, such as DEI certification or coaching certification.
  • Experience with data analysis and metrics, with the ability to track and measure the effectiveness of inclusion and diversity initiatives.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
