Job Summary

As a Software Engineering Manager at Workwarp, you will play a critical role in leading a team of developers, driving technical growth, and ensuring client success. You will be responsible for cultivating a culture of technical excellence, allocating team members to projects, and fostering cohesive project teams. You will also participate in the sales process, serve as an escalation point for project issues, and communicate company values, news, and initiatives effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a culture of technical and leadership growth: Foster a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and leadership growth within the team.
  • Manage HR aspects: Oversee HR-related tasks, including 1:1s, consistent feedback, performance reviews, goal setting, benefits management, and conflict resolution.
  • Allocate team members to projects: Assign team members to projects, maximizing skill alignment, growth goals, and productivity.
  • Build and foster cohesive project teams: Promote peer mentorship and collaboration within project teams.
  • Escalation point for project issues: Serve as an escalation point to resolve project issues and unblock work.
  • Participate in the sales process: Engage with prospective clients through direct meetings and/or provide guidance and coaching during team-led sales calls.
  • Balance team priorities: Balance the team's priorities between client work, personal growth, and internal initiatives.
  • Collaborate with recruiters and candidates: Work with recruiters and potential candidates to create job openings and evaluate candidates.
  • Serve as a product owner: Serve as a product owner for internal tools built and maintained by the team.
  • Communicate company values and news: Effectively communicate company values, news, and initiatives to the team and stakeholders.
  • Relay developer feedback: Relay developers' feedback and concerns to executive leadership.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading a team of developers: Proven experience leading a team of developers in roles such as scrum master, project manager, product owner, technical lead, manager, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated expertise in team building and coaching: Demonstrated expertise in team building, coaching, and performance management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills: Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies: Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • High-level understanding of our Development Stack: A high-level understanding of our Development Stack (C#, .NET, SQL Server, Azure, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven record of building strong relationships.
