Job Summary: Special Education Teacher - Remote Arizona
We are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our remote team in Arizona. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans for students with diverse needs. You will collaborate with other educators, communicate with students and parents, and participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with students and parents on a weekly basis via phone, email, live video sessions, and other means to ensure student progress and address concerns
 - Develop, implement, and enforce IEPs and 504 plans that meet the unique needs of each student
 - Collaborate with other members of the Exceptional Student Services team and General Education Instructors to ensure students receive appropriate support and accommodations
 - Participate in professional development and departmental meetings as needed to stay current on best practices and regulatory requirements
 - Assist the Student Study Team in evaluating and monitoring students to ensure they receive necessary support and services
 - Perform 45-day screenings and other duties as necessary to comply with all applicable state and federal regulations
 
Essential Qualifications:
- Highly qualified in Special Education with a valid Arizona Teacher Certification
 - Current valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
 - Minimum of 2 years of verified full-time teaching experience in Special Education at the secondary level
 - Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
 - Experience with IEP and 504 plan development and implementation
 - Familiarity with assistive technology and educational software
 - Experience working with diverse student populations, including English language learners and students with varying levels of ability
