About Our Program

Our community pharmacy residency program at Blithequark is an ASHP and APhA-accredited post-graduate educational experience designed to foster pharmacists with expertise in community pharmacy practice. The program emphasizes the development of effective skills required by current and future community pharmacists. You will rotate through these sites on a weekly to monthly basis to achieve the objectives set out by the accreditation standards.
  • Educational: You will have various opportunities for teaching, including presenting to small groups and larger instructional lectures, acting as an assistant preceptor for the community pharmacy practice laboratory, and precepting PharmD clerkship students at all sites.
  • Functional/Regulatory: You will have the opportunity to develop your administrative role as a pharmacist, spending time with the pharmacy manager at the two sites, as well as time with the Area Healthcare Manager at Blithequark to understand the details of pharmacy operations.
  • Management/Leadership: You will have opportunities to become involved with both state and national pharmacy associations, attending Massachusetts Pharmacy Executive meetings, local and national pharmacy conferences, as well as assisting with legislative activities to advance the practice of pharmacy.
