Manager, Program Management
Hulu’s Program Management team is seeking a highly-qualified, awesomely-capable program management ninja to join our team to lead complex programs focusing on product introductions and content/device partnerships. In this highly-visible position, you will work as a lead program manager and individual contributor. As a lead program manager, you will provide direct supervision to 2 to 4 program managers for their daily tasks along with offering best practices, strategies for problem solving, and tips and tricks for managing complex programs.
As an individual contributor you will work with cross-functional teams (product management, engineering, vendors, content partners, operations, marketing, legal, finance) to organize, plan, and drive programs from inception through deployment. The right person for this role will be a balance of teacher and doer helping the team define goals and roadmaps, organize and plan the work involved, and monitor and communicate progress both internally and externally. Your work will directly impact how our customers watch and enjoy the next generation of television programming.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Provide direct supervision and training for 2 to 4 program managers on daily work such as setting task priorities, using best practices in program management, and building decision making processes.
• Participate in staffing activities including hiring and budget planning
• Work closely with Hulu’s product development team and content partner as the central point of contact for program scope, tasks, schedules, and communication
• Create complete project plans for end-to-end delivery with appropriate documentation.
• Partner with product management and engineering to quickly and efficiently launch new product features using an agile approach
• Continuously monitor and report on program execution to the teams, program leadership, executive management, and external stakeholders
WHAT TO BRING
• At least 5 years of demonstrated success in a program, project, or product management capacity
• At least 2 years in a supervisory role being responsible for the hiring and training of new staff members.
• Deep knowledge of digital media and electronic commerce concepts and practices
• Solid understanding of software development models including Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Ability to interact and build consensus with a diverse set of technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Capacity to manage multiple concurrent programs
• Excellence in conflict resolution, negotiation, and people management
• Superior English communication skills, written and verbal, across all levels of internal and external stakeholders
NICE-TO-HAVES
• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or other related field.
• Formal training in project management; certification a plus
• Formal training in Agile/scrum; certification a plus
