The DCNR Bureau of Facility Design and Construction is a vital part of the Pennsylvania state government, responsible for providing technical expertise in project design, inspection, construction management, contract administration, surveying, and other technical areas. The Bureau works closely with other departments within DCNR, such as the Bureau of State Parks and Bureau of Forestry, to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide staff support in coordinating and conducting surveys for the Bureau of State Parks and Bureau of Forestry
  • Maintain accurate records of completed and ongoing work
  • Manage a survey crew and ensure the proper inventory and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Conduct property and topographical surveys to support the Bureau's mission
  • Collaborate with other teams within DCNR to ensure successful project outcomes

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Surveyor Technician Supervisor
  • Five years of responsible surveying work, including one year as a chief of party of a wide variety of surveying assignments, and graduation from high school
  • An Associate Degree in surveying or engineering technology may be substituted for one year of non-specialized experience
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training

Special Requirements

  • Possession of a registered surveyor's license as issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, or possession of a registered surveyor's license obtained in another public jurisdiction under requirements which are at least equal to those of Pennsylvania

Other Requirements

  • Meet the Pennsylvania residency requirements
  • Be able to perform essential job functions

To telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
