About the Role
As a Technical Project Manager II, you will be responsible for partnering with Program and Engineering managers to develop video experiences for the Disney Streaming platform. You will serve as the interface between Product and other Engineering teams, ensuring seamless delivery of best-in-class consumer applications. Your expertise will help align our teams with the product roadmap, and you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality software applications that exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for the team, aligning with product priorities and ensuring timely delivery of projects
- Execute multiple projects concurrently, balancing competing priorities and managing stakeholder expectations
- Facilitate and solidify project processes, creating, managing, and updating documentation to ensure transparency and efficiency
- Communicate project statuses, updates, and risks to stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned
- Cultivate relationships across engineering and technical teams, serving as the end-to-end liaison and ensuring effective collaboration
- Identify solution paths for competing requirements, managing stakeholder preferences and ensuring that technical capabilities and limitations are considered
- Demonstrate product knowledge, facilitating the development of requirements and ensuring that technical capabilities and limitations are taken into account
- Work with backend and service teams to establish the needs of your team, communicate risks, and facilitate discussions to remove blockers
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager, managing large-scale projects and demonstrating a strong understanding of technical architecture and workflow
- Technical literacy, with the ability to follow technical discussions and absorb technical documentation
- Experience running a consumer application development project through the entire SDLC, with a strong understanding of project management processes, including Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, with a strong foundation in computer science, engineering, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working in the media and entertainment industry, with a strong understanding of the technical challenges and opportunities in this space
- Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, with experience working with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with project management tools, such as Jira, Asana, or Trello, and version control systems, such as Git
- A certification in project management, such as PMP or Agile, with a strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices
